I've got them on my 370_12 and like them very much. I'm thinking about getting them for my 4001;question-will they "come alive" like the ones on my 370 or will they stay real dead forever? When I installed them on the 12 string they sounded REAL dead the first few days but then sounded alot better after that. Now I have no problem with sustain, etc. I'm hoping that the same thing will happen with the bass strings. I've read several bad reviews on the bass strings. Seems everyone is complaining about the deadness right out of the pack. But the one thing that all the reviews have in common is the reviewers didn't keep the strings on for a long period of time. Maybe a few hours at the most.
What say you?

I don't think of them as being dead, they are not the brightest string I have ever used and don't have super sustain, they are old style flat wounds. I think they have a nice balanced sound myself, not too treble nor too boomy. I keep flats on for a long time and don't like the twang that some of them have at first. I don't even remember what they sounded like when I first put them on actually. I have them on several rics.
