Fireglo Laredo

Post by edski »

The Fireglo Laredo that was on Pick of the Ricks...

It's mine! Image Image

Was debating about trying to see if I could get one of the MB's at Music123 when I decided to check out POR's. And there it was!

And I said "Mapleglo? What's that?". Actually I was trying to rationalize getting the midnight blue by saying "I don't have any blue guitars"...well I don't have any sunburst or Fireglo types either.

By Monday I should! :-)

Here's the URL:

And a cheesy pic I lifted off the site (I couldn't grab the bigger pix from the URL above)

I saw that one too. It must really pop in person. I wonder how it would look with a clear acrylic 4002 style guard on it?

Hi Ed, she's a beauty, if I lived in the States I would have slapped her up myself, as I love 4004's especially in Fireglo and Mapleglo. Bet you cant wait to get your hands on her! That photo on the Pick of the Ricks website doesnt do her justice, so look forward to seeing some photos when you get her.

The sooner I can get mine, then I can join in on all the fun, and I can tell you its driving me crazy seeing all these new 4004's popping up. All we need now is a famous bassist to start playing one!

Thanks for the comments, guys. Really didn't expect to get one this quick...but some things changed in the fiscal department. I had not quite half saved up, and the wife said "you NEVER get anything for yourself..."

As I said, I was seriously thinking of the blue one(s) from Music123...even though I had wanted a Mapleglo. But this one looked so nice. If the pictures don't do it justice...well, I'll wait to be floored by the real thing.

As for the wait...I was prepared to put an order in and wait as long as it took. And at the rate I was saving I was going to have to wait another 6 weeks or so before I felt comfortable placing an order. My Dakota was supposed to take "6 months or more" and showed up in 2 weeks. Scraping up $550 was one thing. I was afraid of putting an order in for this beast, plopping down 25%, and then being forced to "scrape" up 9 bills before I was ready.

So waiting until Monday seems like a very minimal wait. Gives me something to look forward to, and make a Monday a great day! Image

And I guess I'll just have to make do with the 4001 in the studio this weekend. Everyone should have to suffer like that! Image But this one is going to be my number 1!

It's here, and it's NICE! Not too fond of the stock strings, however. I don't like Rounds, and the G string has too little meat for my taste, but I'll deal with it for a while.

So far I like the sound, can't wait to do a rehearsal with it to see how it mixes in. The neck is FAR different from the 4001, but I think I'll be very comfortable with it.
