10s On Your 325V?
Hello!
Nice to join you folks.
I was wondering if anyone has been using their 325v w/10s and if so, how it was working out?

Sorry, M. There's been more than the usual amount of goofing this weekend...
Just a few days ago, a new member called Maria wrote in asking advice on why her 325 wouldn't stay in tune, and also what gauge strings she should use. The consensus was that if it came with 12s, she should stick with them.
Some of the folks here do use 10s on their 325s and I'm sure they will be willing to share their experiences. When I'm not tripping with my (long scale) Rickenbackers, my favorite "other" guitar is a '59 F****r Duo-Sonic with a 22.5" scale. It came to me (long story) in '81 with 12s on it. The first time I restrung it I switched to 10s and it's been on both since many times. I too like to string bend. The F****r neck seems to be a lot less sensitive than the 325 neck to changes in string tension, from my experience with the Duo-Sonic and what I've heard about the 325.
Stick around. Those with more experience will have something to say in answer to your request.
Oh, and welcome!

Hey Murali - It's important to understand that because of the scale length of the 325 - it doesn't feel stiff like you'd think. .012s feel like .010s on a 3/4 scale guitar.
Aside from 325s, the scale length of a guitar determines for me what guage string to put on it.
My Fenders : (25 1/2" scale) get .010s.
My Rics, Gretsches and Gibsons : (24 3/4" scale) get .011s.
The shorter the scale - the bigger the string.
