360 prototype on ebay?

Post by marty »

I usually hang out in the bass forum, but I saw this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2384&item=7305601780&rd=1

A quote from the seller:
"As a prototype to the 360 Series, a line now mass produced in Japan, it bears no serial numbers."

I don't know a lot about Ric guitars ,but I know that the 360 series or ANY Rickenbacker guitar or bass is NOT mass produced in Japan!

I don't want to sound naive, but what's the chances of it actually being a prototype anyway?....I mean aren't the Ric prototypes in the Ric museum or supposed to be anyway?

If it is one it must be a stolen one I presume.

There's another thread on it as well--"Made in Japan?"
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
