Adam, why cast aspersions on another respected Forum member? This a place of support and mutual respect, not meanness of spirit. We may wind each up and gently jibe with each other, but let's keep things on a gentlemanly level!
The smiley face at the end of your post is confusing. does it mean you are kidding or that you're trying to take the edge off your insinuation?

John, you're right that it's unusual to see one of these at "$800 with no bids." I don't expect it will stay that way for long. I really like the model, too. I've not played one, or even heard one played other than on Bangles' recordings (assuming Susanna recorded with one like this). But I would think that the tonal range with the Hoffs model is just about as wide as any Rickenbacker; and the look of the guitar is tremendous, IMO.
Lawton, i've never played or heard one either, i'd be more then willing to buy and take my chances on her though. It really is a beautiful instrument, and I know I dig the sound of the toasters, so I reckon there'd be no problem.
Sorry, Adam...like most of us, I tend to take things literally once in awhile! We've all been misinterpreted from time to time.
This is stunning guitar. The Jetglo combined with the checkered binding make for a formal and very "together" look.
I agree with Ted--and the price could be good at auction end.
Try www.esnipe.com for that last second bidding advantage--the first bid is on them!

Hey, Scoob, I'm not anti-hummer, just anti-hackery.

Hi guys, it is one of the later Hoffs of the 250. Since I don't have the certificate, I don't know exactly which number this one is. The reserve is just a tad more. I may ask RIC Monday if they could look up the sequence via the serial number.
