Well, Jeff...If it goes higher than my current bid, in all probablility, I'm going to let it go. May make a last minute stab if the high bid is $100-200 over my top bid.

There may be other 11/4 bidders...

It could still go for around $3100. The last few on Ebay did not go much higher.

Thanks for the support. The only thing is one of my competitors seems to have bought a couple of other Ltd Ed Rics and will probably try to beat me by a buck..

I guess it doesn't hurt to overpay for something with meaning like this. I'll try to snipe it at the last minute but, I don't have high hopes.

Marc....there's another 4001CS on the Bay right now. No reserve and it's at $1000.00. E-mail the guy with an offer of $2500.00 to end the auction and I'll bet it's yours!

The cool thing about a situation like this is that the newer CS listing will act like bait and effectively put a ceiling on the higher priced,older listing until they are equal.

I'm never comfortable with a seller that has 0 feedback and doesn't take paypal. He also makes no mention of case or certificate.

My bass(yeah, like it'll ever be mine) shows the case, the cert and his bass looks to be in better shape as well.

Marc, go for the 94 ,the pickup surround on the older ones are less rounded like the original plus as the years went on the necks got fatter.

Here's something interesting - I received an e-mail from the seller of the '97 CS stating that he ended the auction early after receiving an offer of $3,000. The buyer didn't come through and so he's offering it to me for $3,000. I'm a bit hesitant since he has zero feedback and I don't like doing off-line transactions for that much money. My personal policy as a seller has always been to set up a Buy it Now for a buyer as long as no one else is bidding on whatever I'm selling. I'm just a bit leery and would rather wait to see if it gets relisted first. Or what I'd really consider is using the past sales as a barometer for making an offer on Mike Parks' or Chris Clayton's CS basses. Even if I pay a little more, I'd have piece of mind knowing that the bass came from a reputable dealer.
