Those are Dunlop straplocks......I have the strap pieces if you want them. The holes likely were filled/redrilled since they use a smaller screw. The style works well but I switched back to stock.....so if you need them let me know....I just ran across a set when I was cleaning out my gig bag the other day.

I modified my Dunlops to work without altering the bass. Of course, this was before I learned that there are Schaller buttons made for Ricks that thread into the existing hole. Doh! Anyway, I found two machine screws that match the size and thread of the Rick strap buttons then drilled out the Dunlops to accept them. This is a bit of a trick because the steel is hardened. The next problem was that that the screw heads were too big around to fit down inside the body of the strap button. I clamped a file in the vise and put the treaded end of the screw into the chuck of a cordless drill. I used the drill to grind the screw head down to the right size to fit into the Dunlop. The result is a clean, secure installation with no mods to the wood.

Ted-

We're a similar breed of twisted Rick-o-phile. I did something very similar to my first Rick 23 years ago after it fell off the strap button one too many times. But I went with the Schaller strap lock. These days I have my brother make them. He uses a lathe to cut the heads down on the screws. I use stainless steel screws of the same length and thread. The holes on the strap lock have to be drilled out as well.

I have the factory RIC Schaller strap locks on one of my guitars, but they have no screw head on them so you have to grab them with a pliers. I prefer my homemade ones.

Yes. I AM a freak.

Hey Ted...thought I'd find you here. I've been trying to e-mail you to let you know I got the 4002 pickguard tracing to and thank you. My e-mails to you all keep coming back undeliverable.
