The bidders are going for it anyway....bit of a lucky dip!

It's a rare transition model Rickenbecker. Between the bacher and the backer lies the becker.

If you look close in the Title he says, Rickenbacker, in the sub it's rickERbacker..it's two, yes, two guitars in one, a ricker and a ricken.

It's probably a 4080 and the guy wants to dump it 'cuz it's too heavy. He's gonna use the money to buy that digital camera that he can't live without.

Stan: I coulda sworn he said "rickenbecker".

I wrote him and he replied that it's some weird thing with lights inside. He says he'll trade for a nice camera.

Maybe he did, Paul, and then corrected it to read, rickerbacker. You gotta keep trying. If he's got a LS and doesn't know it then I'm pretty sure he would trade for a Kodak Instamatic

Paul - Stan,
You're both so naive... Anyone can see by the pix that it's a doubleneck - one was put on in 1949 BEFORE the name change... Honestly - do I have to lead you both around!! Image

Can't any of you read??? It's obvious that it is a kerbacker or a kenbacker. He states twice in the QFS section that there isn't a Ric!

STOP!!! You're all right. It's a kenbacker, a kerbacker, and a kenbecker. But there is no ric, as the flogger sez.

I'll bet it's a triple or quadruple cutaway LS SF. With the barbecue grill option. And the Accent vibrato tremelo kerplunker.

Not to mention the rectabular excrusion bracket, held on by rare unobtanium ambihelical hexnuts.

Would it be too much to hope for a blivet nut?

You forgot about the left-handed-ask-your-father with the mussintuchit valve.

No we didn't, I asked if it was left handed on the last page (but I admit that I didn't ask if it had a mussintuchit on it). I think I'll bid on it 'cos whatever it is I don't think that I've got one, certainly not in that colour anyway!!!.

I've checked the old catalogues and it's a rare prototype 'Airbacker', first aired in 1979. The color is 'Oxygenglo' and it's fitted with two Seeless Duncan airbuckers and has transparent hardware. The patented 'doohickey' between the nut and the first fret apparently gives it an ethereal sound quality.

Nice lookin' unit, eh?
