Call me crazy..............

Post by highway_star »

but I got this hair-brained idea for a 4001/4003 restoration project. Picture this-find a basket-case 4001/4003 and repaint it black with flames starting from the headstock and running about halfway down the body. There would be no binding on it to interfere with the paint scheme. Have the pickguard painted to match or have new wings made and wire it like the 4004 series. Add a toaster to the neck and keep the hi-gain on the bridge.

Thoughts?

I got news for you - if the C64 was available in Blueburst, I'd have a deposit on it faster than you could say "Rickenbacker".

actually I don't like Van Halen very much ... his stuff is all like 20 years old ... we do 1 song ... and I think it is a filler song ... but I love the look of the Van Halen guitars with the stripes ... I was going to stripe a 4003 but the forum members would hunt me down and shoot me

"his stuff is all like 20 years old"

What is wrong with music 20 years old? Good music is good music no matter it's age! Not that I am saying Van Halen is good music, neccesarily. Image Or not good music! That is all personal taste.

That is one of the vary rare Halenbackers special ed. basses made for "old" music, it's all bad you know.
