Just caught it in time...I looked to the left on my last post...#999. YIKES!
Wordy SOB...
Anyway, thanks to all for an incredibly educational and enjoyable time discussing our favorite guitars. Knowing so many interesting and knowledgeable people in this group has made the pleasure of owning my Ricks even more delightful!
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
― Kurt Vonnegut
And I feel so low and inferior, what with only my 12th post.
Hmm...(babbling to himself)...if I type at a rate of, say, 50 wpm, non-stop (except for bathroom and Ric playing breaks) for the next five days...I should be able to clock in with my 1000th post by about 3 p.m. EST Tuesday afternoon; provided, of course, that there are enough other posts to respond to.
I could cheat and respond to my own posts. That might cut the time somewhat.
Trouble is, those Ric playing breaks tend to go on for awhile...
Wordy SOB? Ha, that happens to be what I like about you! I'm glad to see a fellow forumite as knowledgeable and passionate as you. Keep the words coming, my friend.
I could suggest that you should get out a bit more but that would be unkind!
Congrats, Paul and thanks for your insight, technical knowledge and most of all your dry witticisms. It's been a pleasure for me and I dare say all of us.
'And so say all of us..... and so say all of us....'
Geeze, Paul, GET A LIFE!!!
Just kidding you, guy. Anyone who has this much dedication to Rickenbacker guitars and the Ric Forum deserves a pat on the back. (Hey John, doesn't this guy deserve a little something from the Rickenbacker factory?)
Since you are a "Senior" member, I will look forward to your wisdom in my future questions and posts.
