Can anyone tell if this bass has black binding?
I was told from the seller it has no binding/trim at all. It should have either white or black for this year, shouldn't it?Image

It looks like it has black binding around the body and white on the neck.

I think it was common for white finshes to have that combination of binding along with black pickguard and TRC,though I don't know whether that combination was exclusive to white finishes.

I was just wondering whether it was originally finished in white or whether it has always been Mapleglo.

Jaymi, the pickguard has been changed. I asked him for more pictures.
Martin, I saw that before. Is that yours?

I remember that bass - I think it has black binding, I looked at the headstock closeup and it had the correct black plexi TRC. It's not BT because that wasn't an option yet for pre-74 (½-inch) Rics. A White/black trim bass will have black hardware, and this one has chrome. So my conclusion is - it was probably white originally and was stripped.

I don't remember ever seeing a 1975 bass with black binding. I've seen lots of them with black pickguards, chrome and white binding, but never one that early with all black binding and pickguard... Seems to me you can see some white binding on the neck in the pic above.
