Glenn Frey 2030 bass
I understand that the production run on this series included gtrs & basses & was supposed to be 1000 units. I also understand that not all of the thousand were produced. Does anyone have an idea as to how many were actually made & more importantly...how many bass guitars were produced?
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Last one I saw was at Pick of the Ricks. Asking price was around $1500. I thought someone around here actually picked it up.
It sure was a strange bird considering that it was a companion to the signature guitar model and Glenn Frey wasn't even a bass player. Maybe RIC was using this as a way to utilize the last of their 2000 series parts?

"... Gene is a good bassist"
Gene is a WHAT?!
"... Lots of the 70s KISS stuff has some really good basslines"
OK, but they certainly were not played by Mr Simmons.
I'll give him that: he had good taste in basses (sometimes) and in women. Plus, he was born in the same town as me.

"A Noble Instrument Must Be Nobly Regarded"
I think Gene has played some really good basslines. I'm thinking of "Alive", etc. Add my 1 cent to Sean's and maybe we make 2 cents.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Eagles' original bassist, the guy before Timothy Schmitt, play a fireglo Ric? I swear I saw a picture of that somewhere, but I guess I could be mistaken. Any Eagles experts in the Forum??

any bass made 1986 or later ... I need a good strong neck for the extra string ...
Ric could make 2020-5 basses very easily ... all they have to do is drill one more hole in the headstock and put a different nut on it and put a Schaller 5 string bridge on it ... add one part and change 2 parts and they would have an excellent 5 string bass ...
