In praise of Sérgio Silva's pickups

Post by adam_swapp »

I just installed a Sérgio Special pickup in the neck position of my 610. It's a sibling of his rewind that I've been using for some months in the neck of my 625.

I gotta say: Wow! These pickups are freaking great. They blend well with the bridge pickups (new hi-gain and HB, respectively), so it's not a jarring contrast of two completely disparate sounds. And most importantly, they're clear. They have a definition and openness that's often missing in the neck position. I may have to actually use the selector switch and leave the bridge position more often.

I know there are others who are playing his pickups. We are a lucky bunch, aren't we? Image

Well done, Sérgio.
You want to put that where?

Thank you, Adam. I'm glad I could be of help.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
