When I was approx 17 I saw Genesis (Selling England by the Pound) , Pink Floyd (Dark Side) Humble Pie, Kinks, Canned Heat, Jeff Beck, Mott The Hoople, Family, Uriah Heep, Sly & Family Stone, Edgar Winter with Rick Derringer, Supertramp, 10 CC, Traffic, Greeslade, Van Morrison, Doobie Bros, Alman Bros, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Deep Purple .... a good time for concerts

Drove through a blizzard to see Kiss, saw Yes, Rush, Boston, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, the original Van Halen, ironicly Sammy Hagar opened for them, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, saw Argent and Head east at a local club, so many bands,,,,so many brain cells lost.

One cool one that comes to mind, was the "Eagles, Steve Miller, and Eddie Money triple bill concert at Cinci's Riverfront Stadium. Anyone else there ?

My pal still has and plays through that solid state fender. He bought that and the bass new. One of those guys who never gets rid of anything.

What's up with your 4001FG? It looks like it has the Full-width inlays AND 1" neck pickup spacing! Its probably either just the photo or my eyes.

I am amazed your friend still uses that SS Bassman, as all the SS Fender amps of that era were very much denounced!

Jeff - he doesn't play out, hasn't since his teen years. Makes recordings, jams at his house with friends. Like I say, probably has every musical instrument he's ever owned.
It is an odd looking thing, isn't it. But, he sounds good when he plays, so if he's happy, who am I to suggest his amp sucks?

at 17 I was playing an Epiphone Accubass Jazz copy, my first, long gone axe. Only could dream of a Rickenbacker at that point.
