Believe me, no one wants to get his hands on this book more than me! :D

But there's still a lot of work to be done and lots of time that it will take to do it. I don't expect to see anything in hand until late 2012 at the earliest. So, ya'll hang in there with me.

What a great forum we have here, bass players that can read-sweet!

I suppose we also have drummers that don't drool either

yeah , yeah, yeah......

In all seriousness, glad to see everything everything panning out for this. I certainly hope the photographers get credit for their pics and a nice preface about the RRF, it's people and resources.

Even this guitarist isn't dumb enough to pass on this when it's finished! :D

Vintage Mikey at his best. Too funny.   I love the idea of giving credits where they may be due though.

Speaking of photo credits, I strive to credit each photo (that I didn't take myself) to the photographer. I also strive to obtain permission from the photographer to use the photo in the book. That said, I do presently have a handful of photos built into the layout for which I don't have sources. These have been gleaned from the internet by me and other contributors, and I don't feel comfortable using them without attribution. They are key images, I feel, and I want to keep them in the book. So I hope there are some of you out there who can point me in the direction so I can get these photos cleared for use. Anyone?

I talked with David Jenkins (man in the pic) at True Tone Music (Santa Monica) about this image, and he didn't seem to understand that I needed the photographers name. I e-mailed the shop with the picture asking who may have taken it, and got no response. This is a low-res shot and I'd like to get a better one. It's a 4005/6LH, probably the only one:

Also more shots of a righty 4005/6 that Jeff Scott gleaned of the interwebs:
Rick 4005-6 '67 FG 07.jpg
Rick 4005-6 '67 FG 04 copy 2.jpg
And this magnificent shot of Chris Squire posted on a site called
"Last FM"; no photo credit given:

Paul, the guy who owns that 6 string 4005 is on our RIC Facebook group. Presumably the photos are his.

I put it into the register after he shared the SN there

Wow, that was quick. Does he have a name? Registrant's names are not visible. I'd also want to get in touch with him to seek permission to use the photos (or get higher-resolution ones). THANKS!

I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering a copy when it comes out! Great to hear, and we'll all be waiting (im)patiently for it's arrival in the stores!

Paul, have you mentioned the Japanese 1999 reissues that were produced in a limited batch between 2009 and 2010?

Jake, yes; the "1999" is mentioned and shown in the C64 chapter. It's possible that it may appear again on the market, and if so, it will warrant a new chapter in the book - if it makes it out in time.

Ronbo, I tried a couple of times to get in touch with VG about his collection and never heard back. If anyone out there is regularly in touch with Mr. Gallo, I'd appreciate you putting in a good word for the book.
