Having lived in California for most of my life (I'm back in Kansas now) I'd be interested to know what they're doing with tax dollars that is objectionable. As a side note, remember the days when 28% of their tax dollars went to infrastructure and every graduating high schooler could count on a free college education? I do, and thanks Ronnie for making that a memory

Jerry, try calling SamAsh.com and asking for a price match. No tax from Florida (I think...). They might even match the price with any color. The other alternative is to make a friend in Las Vegas, have them order it from MF (no tax?), and go pick it up (good reason for a road trip). Good luck. Tom

Well, from my point of view, I don't think the State of California cares if Jerry dosen't buy his bass. I think the only one who's going to be hurting from that idea, is Jerry. Since the State of California is going to carry on just fine wether he buys it or not, he might as well get the Bass he wants.
No, it won't hurt Kalifornia a bit. Their doing quite well hurting themselves.
This sums up what I'm refering to.
"there's something to be admired in sticking to your principals"
I won't say another thing on the subject. Back to Ricks!

Sam Ash also has nexus in California as well; it's no different. The trick is to have goods delivered in a state where the seller does not operate or a state with no sales tax. Technically, most states still require payment of sales or use tax anyway, with the ultimate purchaser responsible for reporting and payment, but there's no mechanism for them to track this . . . at the moment.

The reality is that any Rick purchased adds to the California tax base. Don't forget buiness taxes along with the income tax paid by RIC employees. I also don't doubt that RIC also pays property taxes. The sales tax is most likely just a pittance compared to the rest.

Got mine with a few issues. Pondering returning it, but also pondering warranty since it is a May 11.
Also thinking about blacking out this MID. Anyone have a picture of one blacked out? Already have the tuners/strings/pickguard/bridge/etc.

Just search the register for MID, BT. Blacking out the binding will be tricky.
