Post by Grey »

For anyone looking to buy a new Rickenbacker 4003... Musicians Friend has an incredible deal going on. $1*99 (it's low) sale price for Midnight Blue 4003's. The sale applies only to Midnight Blue.

Great deal! If I didn't just purchase a vintage 4001 and a 2011 JG, I'd be all over that deal!

I wish I could take advantage of this. Awesome.

If only I could trade them my Ric acoustic for like 3 of them   I love the guitar but, the basses would get used so much more

Wow! That is a great deal on a great color! Of course, I would still have to pay sales tax (live in Missouri) and I already have 2 4003's, but for someone looking for their first Ric bass, you are NOT going to beat that deal on a new one!

I really wasn't intending to buy a guitar today. I was actually thinking of doing one of those 1/3 down layaway like deals for something. (Got that R.A.S. rash again...) then this presented itself. I needed a bass anyway. I hate sequencing bass lines.
Of course I will post the obligatory photos when she gets here.
Thanks Erik for posting.

Since I LOVE this colour, as well as the FWI's, and since I have an extra RIHS pickup and vintage knobs around, I decided to pull the trigger on one too. I had a 10% off coupon, I ordered mine for $1*69.00. The code is...july11deal .

Man, what a deal! But, still a bit spendy for a "project" bass... I'm tempted though...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Done.

Was looking at the '74 4000 JG on 3bay for 2100. So i just saved a G-note!

And got a brand new Rick!
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

Even for a project bass, it's pretty cheap. After I sell what I don't need, I'll end up under a grand on it. Ever since I saw these at NAMM in '09, I've wanted one pretty bad. The FWI don't usually photograph well, but they're awesome in person. Since the "V68" concept started floating around a few years ago, my ultimate 4-string has been one in THIS colour. With the parts I have in stock and a vintage style cloth insulated wiring harness that I'll build, this will be the PERFECT Rick ! Ya, I'll post some pics when it's done.
