Jeff is never shy about showing off that picture. I can never decide which version I like better the WB like Jeff's of the others. Seeing them both in person didn't help.

The one thing that strikes me is that of the 30 plus basses we had at the confluence, I believe 5 were 4005's including Jeff's WB pictured above. No question out there that there is a demand for this beast. I hope that Rickenbacker does consider reissuing it. They could probably sell out a small edition on this forum alone.

I really like the way Mike Tobias designed the edges of the Lakland, personally I like that better than the regular 4005 or 360 style front edge. If I didn't have my 4005WB I would get a Lakland.

BWT, there were only 4 4005s at the Confluence.

Jeff's WB 4005 is gorgeous...now imagine it in Azureglo.

Too much to bear. I'd buy one if reissued and I play bass as well as I play bagpipes.

Good reason to begin to improve (bass, I mean).

But with bagpipes no one can tell the difference.

I also like the Lakland, I would probably get an old cherry EB-2 or an old Epiphone before a Lakland though.

Lakland arrived today safe and sound. It's a gorgous piece and will be well played.

Are those Bartolini's made specifically for Lakland? or are they a stock model you can buy?

I think they are custom made for Lakland, keyword here being "think".

Yup - all their Bartolini pickups are custom designed for Lakland.

Lovin' this bass. Funny what happens. I never would have even thought about it, until a 4005 comes up for sale in Europe. Ted makes a comment about this hollowbody, I find one,check it out, and my whole world has changed.
