Tell her you're withdrawing all "favours" until she's at least prepared to discuss it. It usually works when the girls do it to us!! Image

On the other hand, a guitar she doesn't like is a guitar you'll never have to share. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

Gary Muledeer's Grandfather used to tell him, "if everybody liked the same things, we'd all be chasing your Grandma". ;)

Robert,

my brother in law used to say to his (many) girlfriends "you can stay if you like but be gone by 11:00 A.M."

Bottom line there are many fish in the ocean. Go get one that understands your passions in life.

Gary Freaking Muledeer?

There must be some sort of award for anybody who brings up that name in any context.

A pound of Starbuck's Breakfast Blend, etc...

Actually, that's the only line I remember from him. That, and he used to shoot arrows with his guitar strings. Kind of a Don Imus look-alike if you squint the mind's eye just right.

I'm kind of surprised that anyone else remembered his name. Come to think of it, I'm kind of surprised that I remember his name. ;)

Keep the girl, Robert. You won't have to worry about her messing with the Ricks.

Don and Gary both have rebellious hair. The resemblance ends there. Don's been around for over 30 years. Gary lasted 8 months.

I had a buddy who looked so much like Gary that people would stop him on the street, to ask him to please go indoors.

My advice is dump her Rob! The only thing about my Rics that my wife moans about, is that not one of them has an R tailpiece, all have an accent or trapeze.

She says that it's not a Ric without the R tailpiece, then tells me that my VB equipped Rics are the best sounding....you can't win!

Your girlfriend told you that based upon looks alone, your RICs were her least favorite.

What would she have said if you were to tell her that, based upon looks alone, she was your least favorite girlfriend?

Is making a personal statement about an opinion of the looks of a guitar a real reason to break up?

I guess it may depend on how she put her opinion, Rob. If it was full of expletives then I can understand............

Ok. Resurecting this insight into my personal life, all appears sorted. I've just been boring said girlfriend about Rickenbackers and she emailed me the following message:

"let's just say i like them and when you play them, get more of them!"

God bless us, everyone!

I've just been boring said girlfriend.....

Please explain!!??

I note a reference to 'Camilla' earlier in this thread. I heard somebody refer to her this morning as "Camilla Parkyourballs"..... LOL!

In all seriousness, Rob, I'm genuinely happy that it's all been sorted out. My sincerest best wishes to you both. Image

These things can be tough.......
