Thanks a lot again... that's a really cool one... never could i have imagined that somebody may sound like something in-between Mark Knopfler and Billy Joel... no offence meant, of course. That's lovely.

When is this from, Roy? The sound out of my computer is not very impressive, but is that Spencer singing, or Mike. I can detect Frank's voice. Billy on drums? Who wrote the song?

It is from the RCA period it is John McNally on lead vocal. Two versions of the Second Take Plus CD were released, one on the Tarragon label (US ) and one on BMG label, for some reason the Tarragon release is the far better one has there are three tracks on it which do not appear on the BMG release.

Don't Shut Me Out ( This is a mystery to me which even John and Frank seem unsure about, back in 68/69 Frank introduced this song as their next single which put it in the Liberty period, it never appeared, so did they record it for RCA, even they seemed unsure or simply not interested in clarifying, John does tend to get bored at times, understandably, with trivia question stuff.

By the way, how do you think who could have written the two songs by "unknown author" which were on both CD releases? My version is:
"I really don't have the time" - Allen (lyrics) / Pender (music) or Pender alone.
"Indigo spring" - imo, could have been by Pender or McNally, although i'd bet for the latter.

Well Roy, somebody has to have written it anyway?.. I thought 'author unknowh' is not a typical story for British showbiz. The songs don't seem to be 'traditional', and somebody had to get some royalties for the songs released? A true 'enigma', that's it...

I always believed "I Really Don't Have The Time" was a John McNally composition and was due to be the next RCA single had the deal not ended.

Personally I believe Think Of My Life was written by John but it's never been confirmed I'll try again next week but you have to catch John in the right mood.

Oh, John! That's embarassing! Didn't think it sounded like neither Mike nor Spencer. But zero points indeed.

Roy, a great job you do, indeed. I've always been amazed at how you find the time (and force) to do all this... BTW, i've just thought, it'd be interesting if you did reviews of the Searchers' records (not only for us to read, but also for 'those who don't care' to get them interested).

To prove I am not infallible re-visited song list and note three errors, thanks to Michael Deneger for sending me a list he is working on and inevitably some variations in interpretation, but nevertheless these are genuine errors in my list I missed, so if Peter is found wanting for something to do at anytime,which I doubt, he can amend accordingly
