This is really strange, I`m compiling a list, too. I use the songs I introduced in my site.

It will be interesting to compare both lists. I want to thank you both, as I find such information invaluable in studying the Searchers' music and history. Well done.

The only question, Roy. You say you include the same title twice (or more) if the difference in two versions is significant. That's great, still i can't get what's the difference between, say, "Let the four winds blow" from the first and the second Swedish radio sessions, except for the bass player and the fact that the leadsinger is way too close to the mic on the second version. To me, they sound much the same...

That's true Sheena but as they were recorded on different dates, I see them as different versions, pedantic I know but c'est la vie.

It is sometimes these subtle differences that multiple versions of the same song all the worthwhile.

By the way Roy, the addition of dates would make this superb list shine all the more and, from my perspective, increase its value as a heuristic device.

Oh... c'est a vous de choisir, Roy, and no offence was meant of course. The great job was done. By the way... i'm sure some people didn't hear, say, "Think of my life" or "Little bit of heaven", and it'd be very kind of you if you could 'yousendit' one of them to let people know what they sound like (not to mention it'd be the best b-day gift for my little self who's gonna count a terrible number of 27 in a couple of days...8-)
Cheers and keep on writing,
Sheena.

If we're going to start talking in French here, I'm going to have to get a Berlitz tape. N'cest pas? Sheena? You're 27? I have been NOT 27 for longer than you have been alive. Image

Pas de problemes, guys. I've met people more than twice my age who seemed to be younger at heart than i am... 8-)
Anyway, back to the Searchers' song listing... it'd be interesting if somebody put that list to rating (scale 0-5) to see which song would have the highest rating... seems like it'd be "Needles and pins" or "When you walk in the room" or perhaps "Love potion # 9" but who knows...
