Hey Ron, that is a real beauty! I love Jetglo. When I bought my first Rick in '73, I wanted Jetglo, but my drummer talked me into Mapleglo!
My first bass was after the transition, so I didn't get the checkerboard and full width inlays, but I did get a toaster neck PU.
My later '73 is from March, and looks like yours, but was also MP. I think I'm going to refinish it Jetglo. I already refinished it back in the 80's, and the wood is not all that special for a natural finish.

Thanks. I got an e-mail shortly after posting that picture from someone who collected early '70s 4001s. He asked if I wanted to part with mine. I politely declined, citing how hard I looked to find that one. Plus, I'd ask too much for it.
