Hi Guys, yes, it's mine. It's a shame about the sanding on the upper half, that's the one worst fault IMO. All the rest can be hidden or fixed. The one big plus is it hasn't got a damaged neck like that one that went for BIN recently. If you saw the actual pics of the back of the neck on that one.... really only good for parts with a 1" action!!
This one would make a great project for someone.
Please note the nice quilting....

I'd go for it if I really could, in a hearbeat. Finances prohibit the acquisition of anymore basses at present... *cries*

I'd be all over it too if I could!
That baby looks pretty comfy!

I thought older 4001's typically had "trenches" from the truss rod channels running through the neck p/u rout....

It had something to do with being cut on a table saw (or a similar tool) in the early days. My '63 has long cuts that almost reach the treble surround.

Winning bid: US $4,494.00

That was heart-stopping, I watched the last few minutes. If only it weren't in Australia. If only I had $5,000 to spend on another bass. If only....

Thought - naively - I'd nailed it. Way too much for me, well done Gerry!. Still, my wife will be relieved - or shoud would have been if I'd actually mentioned I was interested....

Nice job Gerry, I was concerned about the 1 feedback guy, but his other purchase was a ric pickup. You should be OK.
