Wow! Looks like a nice get, possible re-fin could bring that baby back to life. A bit hard to tell though, photos are kinda dark. Definitely worth watching.

If this is a 64, shouldn't it have came with a Horseshoe originally ?

I'm kinda tempted .. but it's had a hard life !!

Thats Gerry Ferguson's RM,It needs some work but not a bad investment, the guy thats bidding on it is the guy who bought that RM[on ebay] out of Germany for $400.00 or was it $300.a few months ago.

Yes, Jim.

Hmm... It is a tad beat, ain't it - it's an RM1999 however!

Somebody's gotta snag it. G'luck to Ferguson on the sale, too.

It's been sanded. Some of the guitar is gone forever.

So, it's not all original, but I don't think you'll find one out there that is. This is a rare opportunity to get a genuine RM1999 and over time, restore it with original parts.

If you want one, here's your chance. (Henny!).

You may well wait another 5 years before you see another genuine one for sale....

Original??

Its 40 years old. Needs some work, c'mon, give it a break, original ones are getting few and far between.

For what its worth, Squires isnt orignal. But then again, everone here knows that.

Neither is McCartney's it never heard the word original, and who else plays or played an original RM Maurice Gibbs wasn't original it was painted white so if your even thinking about an RM better take a look here they don't come up often.

If I didn't just pick up the CS, I'd be all over that like white on rice. My 68 isn't 'all original.' I had new frets put on it and Lindy Fralin rebuilt the bridge pup. It's by far the best damn Ric I've ever laid hands on. Someone needs to get that 64 and love it properly.

I have much respect and admiration for the vintage stuff, but I'm on Jeff Rath's side when I say I prefer the feel and sound of the modern 4003's.

You vintage guys go for it.
