Nice move Brian! I considered doing the same thing with a JG Cii. I changed out all the hardware on my trans red. Have an extra pair of black surrounds in my box for a rainy day...

The nat in this shot may go up for sale soon

Put black hardware on the MG... I'm sure Jeff Rath would buy it then!

Andy....what did you do to your surrounds (paint/powdercoat/anodize)?

Kevin...I've seen that powdercoating kit. They sell it through Eastwood. That would be a little much for the few parts I have to do. I'm getting my VW wheels coated black this winter so I could probably get them to do my small parts for next to nothing.

Nate....it seems as though you want everything. Image

You're right about that, Brian! But a JG 4003 and a JG 4004L are on the top of my Rick "to get" list... and a Blackstar.. but you already called it. Image

Just got the call from Chris this afterneen that it is in and he is shipping out Tuesday. He thinks he also has a set of black tuners in stock and a pair of p/u trim rings (thanks for the tip Andy) that will be shipped as well. I'm ordering the black Hipshot "A" bridge (ala Jeff Scott) and a pair of black aluminum knobs from Stew-Mac this weekend also.

All that is left for my 4004L/Blackstar-ripoff is the neck refinishing..........

Good news - Rickenbacker recently shipped some 4001C64's.

Bad news - mine isn't one of them. Guess I'll just keep waiting.
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

Make sure you get the A bridge with 3/4" spacing. The mounting screw holes line up just right

Jeff...that is the one I received....my only concern is that the finish doesn't have any depressions from the stock bridge since the Hipshot is a tad smaller in length.

Just refinish it! You are going to do the black flames, aren't you?
