>>>Mark, I haven't heard enough Yes to say weather I like Squire or not.. I've heard a couple songs, and been to a show and I love his tone.<<<
You need to get yourself a copy of "close to the Edge"!
I like the signature pickguard idea.

Well, but now that they've remastered all of Yes' albums, pretty much every single one comes with three or four bonus tracks. The remaster of "Fragile" includes a demo of "Roundabout" and the full version of their cover of "America", while "Close To the Edge" has the single version of "America". I always loved Simon & Garfunkel's version, and when I heard the Yes cover I think I momentarily achieved nirvana.
Yeah, I know, I've wanted a trim for a while, and my mom's cousin is a hairdresser, but they never get around to it. It sucks.
Anyone have a pic of Geddy's signature? Not one from the back of the Fender. I mean a piece of paper or something. I need it so I can send it for the guard.
My dad was gonna send me "Fragile" but he didn't. I'll just wait til I get home to get it. I'm **** with a pick though, so I'm not looking forward to it.

After listning to Yes... I wanted to learn more with a pick.... I did for awhile then I got back on a rush kick... then a Pat Travers kick. Bassist by the name of Mars played for him for awhile. The guy is just awesome.
My ric doesnt really work on alot of his stuff tho. Something about his style.... just didnt work out. Oh im going off topic.
Yeah nate youll love yes. Hopefully not as much as the Geddy thing.... Cause im thinking those CS bassist... are pricey haha.

When I was learning, I played my 6 string acoustic guitar with a thin pick for practice on pick usage. Practice the Pinball Wizard chords and you'll get the pick action quick.I also did some double pick bluegrass stuff *just the melody lines) and I got pretty decent with a pick. Now, I use it when I have to, but not all that often as I can never seem to locate the pick at the time I need it!!!

Mars Cowling! Yeah, that guy really got my fingers going. Around the same time I was way into Rush. That live Pat Travers album is great.

If you set up your EQ right, you can get really close to Squire's pick sound using your fingers. Granted, he plays a lot of stuff that is much easier with a pick (Roundabout for instance . . . or Heart of the Sunrise), but it's not so hard to learn with fingers . . . you've just gotta strike the strings a lot more sharply and learn how to do quick mutes and such. It takes a bit of practice, but it can be done.
"Ick! Your ends must be so split and gross. If you get a little trim it'll start growing faster again and will look better too."
Well, I haven't had a haircut since 1990...you'd think with my movie star looks I'd be more concerned about it, but noooooo....
My ends justify my means...or maybe just reflect them...

I didn't get where I am today by being on time...
Well... it looks like some people never have their hair cut at all...

Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
