I'm not sure which one is which...let's just say I'd like to strangle one with the entrails of the other.

Dane, you forced me to do this.......

I’d be really pleased to meet you if I could remember your name
But I got problems of the memory ever since I got a winner in the fame game
I’m a citizen of legoland travellin’ incommunicado
And I don’t give a damn for the fleet street afficionados

But I don’t want to be the backpage interview
I don’t want launderette anonymity
I want my handprints in the concrete on sunset boulevard
A dummy in tussauds you’ll see
Incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado

I’m a marquee veteran, a multi-media bonafide celebrity
I’ve got an allergy to perrier, daylight and responsibility
I’m a rootin-tootin cowboy, the peter pan, the street credibility
Always taking the point with the dawn patrol fraternity

Sometimes it seems like I’ve been here before when I hear opportunity kicking in my door
Call it synchronicity call it deja vu I just put my faith in destiny -- it’s the way that I choose

But I don’t want to be a tin can tied to the bumper of a wedding limousine
Or currently residing in the where are they now file a toupet on the cabaret scene
I want to do adverts for american express cards talk shows on prime time tv
A villa in france, my own cocktail bar and that’s where you’re gonna find me

Incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado

Sometimes it seems like I’ve been here before when I hear opportunity kicking in my door
Call it synchronicity call it deja vu I just put my faith in destiny -- it’s the way that I choose

Incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado
It’s the only way
Incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado, incommunicado

Okay, Dave...I s'pose I had that coming...

Now then: "Why do birds suddenly appear...?"

Well, they did use the word "anonymity".

I think that takes talent.

There's this transatlantic video I saw where he plays that 4080/12. As he's picking it up, the other guys make a reference to the guitar as "the beast" or something like that - Made me chuckle. Thing certainly looks heavy...

Thanks Lindsay

It's great to see people still playing those things.

Heavy's not a strong enough word...

It would seem that what I'd heard was correct then.

Dave, I can't help noticing that on Pete's (and Dane's), the guitar fretboard extends further into the body than it does on my 4080. Was this a design improvement that happened after the first few were made? I'm assuming that you probably have examples in both constructions. Does this help alleviate the 'vibrating neck' syndrome that mine has a bit of on the guitar neck?

Well, Jon, mine was the first or second one made (not even RIC can/will say for sure), so who knows what the design/manufacture evolution was like.

Brings up the same old sore spot once again...how can it be that these rare axes remain shrouded in mystery? Hopefully Dave's dogged determination will uncover more of the story than has ever seen the light of day 'til now...

No question Jon.

Your's being a 1975, has the neck mounted further out on the body.

Ooops...a clarification's in order...mine was the first or second 12 they made. They did tell me at the factory that they had had some difficulties with the design that they were working out at the time (Dec. '76)...

I show a 4080/12 BG made in 10/75 Dane.

"No question Jon.

So they did reduce the vibration then? I wish I'd known about this difference, I might have held off for a later one.

Slightly OT - I take it you have my serial no. in your database Dave?
