I agree about the gauges of the strings. When I buy a used guitar, I usually use a micrometer and measure the strings it came with. This was very useful with my 4003S/5 SPC quasi-Blackstar bass, as the strings on it were not the right gauge and that helped explain the extreme tailpiece lift. Both my 320 Silver and 320 Red have the wrong gauge strings on them (standard set instead of a short-scale set) and do not intonate well right now.

I dont think is the strings...if it were the strings, it seems like they should all be sour....the only sour strings are the octave E and the octave G...everything else is in tune. If I tune the octave E and G strings sharp and play a chord, its fine. I'm going to try to adjust the bridge saddles shortly.

Jon, just my unsolicited two cents, but I had a bad set of strings for an acoustic I own. Not all of the strings were bad, just two. No matter how hard I worked to keep it in tune, it just wouldn't. At first I kept thinking it was something with my guitar. I mean how often do you get bad strings? I bought a new set and no more problem.

Ok, I'll try a new set of strings...I was going to get a set of pyramid 10's but, what would be the string set for the job?

I would get the rics too. Alot less money and there great. No Tony the tiger jokes please. Try this place. I just got my 620/12 and going to put new strings on and its a new guitar.

I would suggest you dont mess with the saddles until you get the new strings on and see if they fix the problem. I you notice the nut and the saddles are cut just enough for each string. If you dont have the right gauges that will change the intonation. Also the fact that you have a six string bridge will always be a factor. Part of the Ric sound I think. Check out the Ric review on utube for some great info. HaHa

In just checked my intonation on my 96 360/12 and it spot on. I really think the strings are the key.
