Ralph, I am sure you will like the LasBella flats. They kind of pricy, but well worth it. I was a true Rotosound fan, but after trying LaBalle flats, I am changing them all on all my basses.

I am trying the d'addario chromes at the moment, but the verdict is not in. Not all the four strings have the same smooth sound. I will try the laBella 760N next.

I love my LaBellas. I just got my 82 4001 JG back fro my luthier last night after putting original bridge and tailpiece on it. He reused my old LaBellas flats on it and the thing sounds like a real Ric now. I was amazed with the amount of the Ric growl I didn't even know about with the Schaller bridge on it.What a difference!!! My 4001 JG is a fretted one of course, but I do have a 78 4001FL Walnut and I use the same set on it.
