"You may also try to start with, say, "Green River". It's just E7 and... E7."

And C (Walkin along the river road at night), and A7 (Barefoot girl dancin in the moonlight), and back to E7.

The licks he plays aren't too tough and always sound cool.

Aww. Right you are, Mark. I remember somewhere "Green River" was referred as one of Fogerty's "one-chord songs". Mmm, lemme think. "Commotion"? or perhaps "Born on the bayou"?
Anyway, C and A7 aren't a big trouble... imho.

Lime in the Coconut is all a single seventh chord. C7 if I remember correctly.

Thanks everyone for the great response.

John, I printed out that chord sheet and I'll be working on it over the weekend. THANK YOU, that is great!

Mark,

I'm glad I'm not alone! Now how do I put this "no lesson" thing into words? Perhaps a quote will work here. "If you spend ONE MORE DOLLAR on anything guitar related (other than new strings)"..... hence, no human teacher in person for now. Image In short, the WIFE is ******!

Mike,

Cowboy chords? Thanks for the well wishes. I feel SO stupid at this point but I HOPE that will pass!

Sheena, ...good idea!

Charly & Jason.... LOL! Image Goombah, I guess I deserved that!
