Before this topic heads to the dead, I was thinking that maybe we could have members tell stories of a time similar to this.

Have you ever recieved a Ric on a very special occasion?

I have. I was doing my first ever gig for some kids at their theatre and music camp (I worked there, by the way), and I had been waiting for my new 660/12TP JG to arrive that whole week, because I was planning to do the gig with it. On 29 June, the day of the gig, I got a call from my mom saying the guitar had arrived and that she (my mom) would be there at 4:00 (before the gig started). So, I waited almost all day, and when 4:00 came around, my mom and my dad showed up with the silver case. I excitedly took it, and opened it. I shouted, "Check out my new guitar!!!" and all the kids screamed! Then I said in an announcer voice, "complete with Certificate of Authenticity". I strapped the guitar on, and played Tom Petty's "American Girl" since it is his guitar, and that is the song he uses on in gigs today. I must admit, it was kind of hard adjusting to the neck, but I got through the song. I was rather nervous, but I played on. When I finished, the kids screamed, and I broke into "Refugee". I played that one a lot better, and I was more relaxed. As the song was ending, I walked off the stage into the crowd, and everyone screamed! When the song was over, I said, "You guys CAN chase out if you'd like..." and before I even finished, a group of 12-14 year old girls chased me out, and I felt great!

So, I received a special guitar for a special occasion!

Let's hear your stories now!

That is a great story! I don't have one myself, but I'd like to hear some more.
