Hey Jeff,
I guess this 4005 isn't exactly a stranger

Uncomfortable to play sitting down because of the binding on front or because of the body shape/balance? I've noticed that when I play mine sitting down it doesn't stay put on my leg as well as my 4001-type basses. Something about the way the body balances or the shape/placement of that bottom horn. The bass wants to slide back off my leg.nov_1981 wrote:I like it, its a little uncomfortable to play sittng down but otherwise has a great feel to it.
I like the way its sounds unplugged.
I think I still like my 81 4001 the best.
I think I feel the same as you about my 4003, determined to like it.
Do you mean your 4005, or do you also have a 4003?nov_1981 wrote:I think I feel the same as you about my 4003, determined to like it.

Ah, very close to me (Staten Island)! Mine did IIRC - they were very dark ones though - almost Burgundyglo!nov_1981 wrote:John, Hillsborough is roughly in central NJ about 30 miles+- from the city.
Exit 9 on the turnpike as some like to reference![]()
Did your 4005 have red dot side markers?
I took a flashlight to mine and sure enough they look brown to me, almost like the color of the fretboard. Coolthey were very dark ones though - almost Burgundyglo!
