I'm almost positive this is the one that switched hands a couple of times over at the Talkbass forum. It used to have a black pickguard and the regular pickup surround. See the links below:

Bryce, I think this is the one that was on G-base. I thought about getting it, but finally let it go. The current seller says he replaced the black pickguard with white, and added the Hipshot bridge and the Pickgaurdian pickup surround. It may still have "neck issues" but a lot of "neck issues" are solvable with the knowledge base here on the forum.

I think you refer to an old one that Andy Winter has...which if I recall, could *possibly* be Roger Waters' old 4001...that one was unplayable and had no electronics, I believe. And was far older than a '77.

Ed, it's always had wiring, just high action and, therefore, no strings for a long time! It's strung now, and I'll be playing it next week when home in the UK.
I'm pretty sure it's not RW's old bass either now, as old photo's have shown a possible broken guard, and my original is still complete...

yes, that's true Paul - but this one has been 'hot potatoed' quite frequently.

Kenny has a 4005 in the same trans green color.
Yep! Mine is a little darker though.

This would be a nice match though...hmm...

Well, since you've always had that greenie on the other side of the pond, I've never seen it in the flesh! :)

You had/have another old carcass that has no electronics if I recal, correct?

Moral: If you paint your Rick in a unique color (or do anything else "one off" to it), it will be immediately recognizable to RRF members (and other nutcases) and will be tagged and followed for the rest of its re-born days...
