Impressive, I really didn't think he had it in him anymore. So diverse, crossing so many lines fearlessly...in arrangements/production as well as writing. I may buy it! The last thing I bought was...maybe the 45 version of "coming up"! 8) Geez I hear Eno, Shoegaze, Phillip Glass and good ole blues/RnR...dang! Anyone know who produced it?!

Youth and Macca are responsible for the production, from what I understand...

I had kinda written Macca off as having his creative years well and truly behind him.. I'm so glad to have been mistaken!

Yup, I'm late to this party...have been very busy for the past few months, and haven't been able to check out this fine Rickenbacker Forum for some time.

Wife bought me this CD for Christmas. (Thanks).

Gotta agree, I enjoy this album. Most of the songs work for me, but like any project that appears to have been undertaken without a net, some things don't click.

But overall, a fine edition to McCartney's argument that he was the Beatle that was "Experimental One", even before Saint John.

The earlier two albums, I'm told, do not feature vocals, but I'm interested in finding them nonetheless. What I especially love is that Youth (Martin Glover) was in Killing Joke!!!!

With some notable cheesy exceptions, just another great partnership for McCartney - Elvis Costello, Roger McGuinn, that future project with Mick Kern.

And how is everybody?

I gave it another spin yesterday and realized I was too hard on the record. I do like it better than "MOF" but not Chaos. It's actually very good. I think I like "Sing the changes" the most.

P.S. I've also been listening to "Driving Rain" and I am realizing that I was way to hard on that album as well. (Some good tracks on that one)

P.S.S. Hi Mick!!

OK, I've just done the Amazon thing and will give it a try. You've sold me. This will be my 3rd purchase of his last 3 CD's.

Old thread, but the album sounds as fresh today as it did the first time. I'm a big fan of this one. 8)
