Hi Mark,
I really like the original version of Throwaway. I agree the remix has better definition and clarity, but I quite like the thumpy nature of mix 1.
In any case, great song, great performance(s) and great arrangement.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
A vote for the first version - that's interesting. I guess both have their merits.
And thanks for the vote of confidence in my stuff, Kira. But I should probably get away from doing Walker covers and try something original.

To echo that which has gone before-
Well as an unabashed fan of Mark’s tunes (and many others here in RRF), I have never really thought of it as being any genre, it’s just stuff – in this case ‘Mark’s stuff’. Maybe someday he’ll post “at the end of the line” - a bit of a departure - and the initial concepts as to what this genre is will change.
I personally never have liked pinning things of a creative nature down too much, as it seems to limit who might appreciate it. One might be able to pigeonhole a single tune into a slot but that might be waaaay too limiting as an overview of an artist/song writer.
So viva la difference to Mark’s stuff and Kira’s stuff… and everyone else stuff who is out there. I listen to darn near everything that folks post here and have a lot of it bookmarked – better than the radio when I’m working! Man you guys are good!!!
And Mark I’ll bet you original stuff is every bit as good as your ‘Walker’ covers… hahahahah

And thanks again , Tom. I'm a big fan of your Quantum Kids material, as well as a lot of the music that the RRF folks post. If you can weed through the 14-year-olds with the pimped out pages, there's lots of great music to be found of Myspace, too. That, and a lot of college radio stations that have audio streams are where I turn for hearing unique and original sounding music. The mainstream today is so God-awful and formulaic. Just downright uncreative and played out. With the exception of Rihanna's 'Umbrella.' Sorry, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine!
Enyhu - maybe I'll have to post 'At The End Of The Wire' per your suggestion, Tom!

Hey you are the moderator - you can have a 'guilty' or two... Sorry that should have been 'wire' not 'line'... I do so love the sentiment in that tune....
Re: Throwaway
HA! No worries. I didn't even catch that. Besides, it's a thin line between line & wire.ram wrote:Sorry that should have been 'wire' not 'line'...
