Balance the exercise by switching hands.Amp in left hand going in, right hand going out.
300 watt Behringer's plenty loud, and cheap as well.
+1 on the Behringer...but it's 70+ pounds, and needs wheels, but they would upset the balance of its monitor-cut cabinet.

I'm seriously considering "going Geddy", Sansamp RBI fed thru the monitors and NO AMP.
Carrying all those cabs out every weekend gets to be a DRAG.

I've got the 180W standard-cut design from them, the BX1800, and it weighs a lot less than the 300W (55 lbs.), and one could even attach wheels if that's not light enough. It packs quite a punch for its size and simulates a tube sound, supposedly. I got mine as a fall-off-the-truck discount at $160. Very good choice when less than the best will do.

My is referring to the BLX3000 which is too heavy @ 60.5 lbs.But it's cheap and I won't really cry a river if it gets swiped.
I've a small cart, but it's less awkward to just head in with the amp in one hand and the bass-du-jour in the other.
Post show, one trip out, jump into Tonto and peel out ahead of the angry torch bearing villagers

I've been told by audience members that the bass sounded good, that would have to say something for the amp.

All the helpful suggestions are very much appreciated, and I can see I'll have my work cut out for me over the next little while. One kind poster even contacted me to offer up a Nemesis NC210 at a very good price, which appears to fit the bill very nicely both in terms of tone & weight and I look forward to test driving that one once my new 4003 arrives (Oh the anticipation . . . ). Unless there are problems with it I think I may have found what I'm looking for. Reviews seem to be very good. Cheers.

I checked out all the PJB combo amps last week at my local Sam Ash. They did sound good but were very low in output. I had both the Suitcase and Flightcase cranked and they wasn't very loud. :? The Briefcase would work fine for an amp to keep in my bathroom only!

I was referring to the BC as a BR amp.

For 200 and 250 watts the SC and FC were awfully quiet!

If mega-light is your desire, a GK MB 150 might be the way to go - around 25 lbs from memory. It has a great back panel with a balanced line out for big gigs. I've found mine to be great for the back. They seem to sell for micro-bucks second hand too...

IT'S HERE!!!!! - IT'S HERE!!!!! - IT'S HERE!!!!

Oh man, what a gorgeous 4003MG. I'm gonna be playing this thing all night, but not through my little Peavey Minx. I decided to go with the Nemesis NC210, but I won't have that for another couple of weeks, so it's over to my buddy's place tonight to crank it through his Peavey TNT. It'll have to do for now. :D :D :D :D :D
