Byrd Watching

Can anybody provide a l-r identification of the front row personel on the big coloured picture a few posts up from here? There are 6 persons. Is it Gene sharing the microphone with Crosby, or is it Gene with Michael Clarke? Then, who's the 6th person? Gram Parsons with David??

Who the extra performers are with the original 5, I'm uncertain. I can identify Roger, Croz, Michael Clarke, Chris Hillman, and the guy on mic with Crosby might be Gene Clark. Gram Parsons had passed away many years when this photo was taken. And my guess is that it was taken about the time the Byrds were inducted into the Rock'nRoll Hall Of Fame. I can't find Gene Parsons, and am not sure if any of the unidentified performers might be Mike Kelly, John York, or Joe Lala, or not.

...do you know if there are bigger color copies (and better resolution) of that Ed Sullivan Show picture with the groovy, circular orange backdrop available ?

I was hoping to get something maybe 5" x 8" size or better, for framing, for hanging in my music room.

I did a couple of web searches the other night, Google and Bing, but the several candidates of this shot that come up (either gray scale or color) are all rather smallish size.

Any clues on where to find ?

I tried looking just now, and I didn't have any better luck than you. I tried a couple of the online poster sales sites, and came up dry there as well. That would make a nice poster to hang on your music room wall though, wouldn't it?

Looks like Jackson Browne singing with Crosby. And whoever the sax player is at upper right, sure looks like John Jorgenson.

Well, according to Wiki he does play sax. I thought he looked like Jorgenson but I just though Nahhhhh but according to Wiki, he is a reed man.

Pictured left to right: Don Henley of the Eagles (who gave the Byrds induction speech), Will Lee (from Paul Shafer's Late Night band), unknown (from Paul Shafer's Late Night band), Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, Michael Clarke, Chris Hilllman, and David Sanborn. (I could be mistaken about that being Sanborn, but it sure looks like him to me, ca. 1990).
