Put it on YouTube. 8)

If this video is not appropriate for the RRF Jeff, surely we wouldn't want it on a youtube site promoting the RRF.

I think the intention is to keep our new little corner of YouTube as an extension of "these parts", seeing as we bear the name RRF. My attitude is simply that if it wouldn't fly here, we shouldn't post it there either. 8) I hope everyone will understand why that is and work together with us on this. :)

So far it's been 100% positive with many great videos already lined up for your viewing pleasure, and constructive comments coming in for all of them. So let's please hold that thought and keep this thing something we can all be proud of. :)

I would think Darren would know not to use that section! Besides, that was tongue-in-cheek.

(small announcement)

If any members of the new group receive objectionable comments to their videos, be sure to let me or Robert know right away. We will remove any insults or nonsense immediately. :)

Thank you. :)

There's an extremely tight control remaining over this very humourous clip and you can rest assured it won't be finding it's way anywhere near the RRF, Peter. :)

I want to weigh in on this important topic publicly. I understand and accept that if the Youtube group has any kind of connecton to RRF, that light shines from one to the other. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. It's complicated. However, I honestly feel that there are some really terrific reasons to link the two:

1. I knew nothing about RRF and was active in the RIC forums and on Youtube LONG before I was aware of RRF. The Youtube group could well serve as a welcome mat to the RRF. I would want to encourage viewers to join RRF if they too, are Rick-o-philes.
2. When users join the group, they create links to their own channels- which may contain other videos that are NOT Rick-specific or even are bit on the tawrdy side. That's ok as I see it. What we do in our private lives/channels is our own business. So long as we remain civil and promote the talent and Rickenbacker way of life, I don't see our side antics as incompatible.
3. There is NO easy way to collect Rickenbacker videos now. In the current RRF format, you may come across a video in some thread, but it's really hit and miss. I enjoy the occasional Youtube embed, but I often want to "move on to the next" to see if it's a video I can learn from or just enjoy for its performance or musicality.

I have confidence that Kira and other moderators (yet to be appointed) can manage the group and delete users, videos and comments that are inappropriate.

I say let's give it a go and see what happens for a while. I'm enjoying what we have so far!

Peter,

It's not on the Youtube site promoting RRF. The video I posted a link to from Darren is on his personal channel and is NOT posted on the Rickresource Youtube group site. Such material would be removed immediately upon review by Kira or myself...though, we might laugh hysterically at it were it sent privately!!!

I think it's possible to have it all here.

Sincerely,

Robert Grandmaison

Thanks Robert, we appreciate your unbridled enthusiasm. As discussed the jury is still out at this point. There is much to consider from a management viewpoint.

Fair enough Brian- I will await the final decision by yourself, Peter and others and will respect your ultimate wishes.
