RRF Youtube Connection

Post by Bighouse »

Have any videos of you ripping that fantastic guitar solo out on your Rickenbacker? Original material maybe? Want to impress others with that cover of your Lennon or Petty riff? Submit the link to your file to a new Youtube group created just for RRF- point your browser to:

http://www.youtube.com/Rickresource

With permission from the RRF admins, I'll be moderating the group, but just wanted to encourage guitarists to join that group, pitch in and post links to their vids.

I'd like it to be an organic endeavor, and I'm new to Youtube groups, but I've tried to keep it as open as possible for all to join and post material. It isn't meant in any way to take away from RRF, but instead as a way to simply place all interested members vids in one location so we can all enjoy each other's endeavors and talents and, hopefully, learn from each other along the way.

And, I apologize if this seems crass or like I'm cross-posting (which I will be to some extent!) but I want to make sure that even those who don't frequent the Rickenbacker General forum are aware of the RRF-Youtube connection.

Sincerely,

Robert
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

Man, talk about cross posting, could you put this announcement in a few more groups?

Seriously though, I do think it's a great idea and I'm glad you're posting it to so many different sections. This is a great idea and people need to know it exists...

Darren,

Those three clips are amazing. Sounds like you were born with a guitar around your neck...and I'm pretty sure almost anyone's going to be envious of that Wall of Rick (well, and maybe a Fender or two) you have behind you there and listed in your signature! It's also an unexpected treat to hear acoustics- I'm so use to the seeing/hearing the electrics that I forget about the full range of instruments that RIC makes...(C'mon you mandolin and vintage steel frying pan fans- where's your vids?!?)

Thanks so much for posting your vids- what a treat to wake up to a 5 a.m. today and find!

One really cool thing that I didn't count on when setting up the Rickresource YouTube group was the ability to hyperlink automatically to users channels who post to it. So, in addition to simply watching/hearing the vids that are linked into the group, you can link back to the User's home channel page and check out their videos there as well. Man- our people have a LOT of talent! Need proof? http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=eySF2K3b0iU

That's the tame version available to the general public. There's another version, shot on the same drunken night, which is much funnier. Unfortunately it's a little too risque for these parts. Maybe we can show it at the Aussie Confluence in 2010?
