But, the positive thing about that is that there will be more Rickenbackers for us! :D

They offer 3 different 'chrome' finishes for guitars..........

1. Chrome Wrap.
This gives a full chrome effect to the whole body and is best for bodies with large contours i.e Ibanez JS, Strat types & neck throughs etc. This gives a good chrome effect and is protected by a high performance 2K eurathane lacquer.

2. Foil Top.
This is a reflective foil based product, which can only be placed on relatively flat surfaces, although the forearm contour will also be covered. Then the whole body is oversprayed with a high performance 2K eurathane lacquer. This gives an OK reflective result but not a perfect mirror.

3. Mirror Top.
This is the same material as mirror pick guards are made from but in a large sheet form. This is also best for flat top guitars i.e Jems, Teles etc. We then use a heat process and vacuum bag to mould the forearm contour. This gives the most perfect real mirror finish we have ever seen, especially when complemented with a mirror scratch plate which we also can supply.

Chrome Rickenbacker is BEAUTIFUL. Jet Age gorgeousness!

Not sure about his comments cos his Ric sounds great.

I like it too! Wish there was a way to have it done without the problems.

The song is cool too, don't know anything about that band.

The Bluetones have been going since the heady britpop days of the mid 90's.
Their first album was great, but subsequent album have been patchy.
But they play Rickenbackers, are a great live band, and I'm going to see them in 2 weeks time in nearby Durham. :D

The Bluetones are close personal friends of mine. Nice lads and great band. We did support for Mark (singer) at an acoustic show in London a couple of weeks ago. Adam's not using his Rickenbacker much these days but is still a fan of these guitars.

Forget the finish, it sounded like chrome.

Eeek, hated that tone. Sounded kinda metallic to me.

If it was in the key of A, would that have made it, "metallic A"?

I'm surprised someone also didn't say,
You know what they say: When in Chrome, do as the Chromens do ...

IIRC, many years ago there was a seller on eBay that offered metal plating service for guitar bodies like Strats or Teles (any solid-body with a bolt-on neck), I think nickel and copper were two of the platings offered, but that was a long time ago.

Truly horrible... I can't imagine anything more ugly than a totally chrome guitar!

I don't know much about guitars as you can tell, but my philosophy is simple. If you want a guitar that looks good, get a Rickenbacker. If you want one that plays well and sounds good, buy anything else.

Wait, I thought if a guitar looked good it would naturally play well...

Noticed that his other Ric akso has a non-factory finish. The dude dares to be different! :D
