Or, as Collin pointed out, Winfield Vintage sells a new version for $180, or the whole kit for $300. Either way, you have to really want to do it, though.

Wouldn't make sense on a guitar that will already be modded far past "original parts" making a difference or not. Winfield's are top-notch, too.

Yup. Best thing about a dog of a guitar is that you have nowhere to go but UP. Almost anything will improve it!

Anyone happen to know the binding thickness around the F-hole (Is that what they're called around here?)....
And where did they stick the joint?

And what is the body binding thickness on the back??

I's say go with AZ Blue, or Burgandy if you're going with period colors, but you could also go with bright fire engine RED if you want something really different. It's a Rick color, but wasn't available until the 80s/90s.

Nice plan!

We call it a "sound hole" around here, because a F-hole looks like a "F"

I stick my joint between the strings and the headstock, until I need a little hit.

Bump - I just received this from Mr. Tonewoods. It's much better than this thread would lead you to believe. The checker binding is in great shape, only the outer white binding is missing.

The neck could use a reset. It's just bad enough to need one.

I think I may just try to paint over the fretboard inlays. I imagine it would take heat to get them out of there, and the neck is otherwise decent, so I don't want to risk damaging it (further).

Plugged in, the pickups sound great! Although the wiring harness is a little goofy - got re-wired incorrectly at some point. I think it's just knobs in the wrong places, not wrong wiring.

I happen to have a spare 366 resto kit lying around, so that will finally come in handy, since I've never found a 360/12v64 cheap enough (again) to warrant purchasing to "upgrade" and flip.

I think I'll leave the finish as is - I can play it out without worrying about dinging it

Love to see that thing get the full restoration treatment, but it's also a great sounding guitar as is...

I didn't mess with the wiring, but i know who did...
It had a teak ( ) pickguard installed, so got that off of there...

Love to see pics if you do indeed get some paint on her...
