I have seen two and three piece backs on Les Pauls. In the '70s some Les Pauls had two piece bodies but one piece was sandwiched between the top and the back.

An original LP should have a one piece back. A sandwich body construction of course isn't the same as a multipiece back.

Hey, no probs!

There have, however, been two, even three-piece necks on Gibson LPs.
Currently only Epiphone LPs still have multi piece necks.
My '81 Custom had a 3-piece neck
