Probably a '91 or early '92.
My April '92 V63 is the last one I see in the register that has the nicer (to me) surround.

Dane do you have a picture of this Tailpiece? Where does one find one?

Brian, the C64 tailpiece is part #01169. Look at any C64, and you'll see it. It's a 3-screw version of the current 4003 die-cast zinc tailpiece. It's also got the cut-out in the center tooth like the old cast aluminum part. I've never priced one, so I don't know what they cost, but I'm sure there are some left in stock at RIC. Unfortunately, unlike the HS pickup (for which there is high demand), this part may be discontinued when stock runs out. I feel that RIC should supercede that standard 4003 TP with this part and just add the two holes to the tail like the early 4003's. Although there would still be two visible attachment screws, they would be in a position to really make an improvement.
