Ooh! NICE!
8) 8) 8)

One of these days, I'm gonna get within a hundred miles of one of those and maybe get to play it. Then I'm sure I'll have to buy one...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Yeah, that's very nice (the b&w shot is particularly cool). My concern with owning one of these (or any bass with original or re-issue horseshoe) is the string clearance around the H/S. I like my action on the high side and play fingerstyle on the hard side. I do have the bridge PU covers on my '73 4001FL and '08 4003 with no problems, but it looks to me as if there might be somewhat less string clearance with a H/S.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

Dang! I used to live a mere 600 miles from Edmonton (Malta, MT). Now I'm about 700 miles away...

I play fingerstyle as well. There are no issues with clearance. I also play fairly heavy rock and this bass is bad a$$

I really like the finish checking on this. Gives it a real cool aged look. I also like the fact that it's one of the earlier ones with the more accurate bridge pickup surround. I'm guessing it must have the longer headstock too. You should add one of the C64 replacement tailpieces to get it the rest of the way there.

Oh, that's a beautiful bass, beautifully photographed! I can haz more picturz? :)

Chris Squire is why I bought a 4001 in the first place, so I especially appreciate the 4001CS... wish I'd had the sense to buy one when they were new. I could have afforded it then, but alas not now....
Turn on, tune up, rock out!

+1! Nice bass!

Probably a '91 or early '92.

My April '92 V63 is the last one I see in the register that has the nicer (to me) surround.
