Mini heat wave heading here tomorrow...90+ or something like that...and humid. Lucky for me I'm on my way to Beautiful Downtown Burbank for a couple of days...looking forward to some nice 70 degree weather!

Hmmm, the pool is now 88 degrees Scotty.

Man, how can you stand such outrageous temperatures? No, I'm serious! I can't stand air temperatures being much over 80F. Water that hot would par-boil me for sure...
You ain't kidding, brother! It was a humid 96°F today in Lawrence, feeling much more like August than early June. Man, I sure miss Oregon.

I thought that too cj, after 9 years in florida the blood thins. I used to walk barefoot in the snow when I lived up north. Now, when it gets below 60, I'm freezing! LOL

Hey, there's nothing like swimming in a glacier fed lake, where the glacier is actually hanging into the lake...

And yeah, I've done that more than a few times...

I loved the cold. When I was a kid, I worked in the frozen food section of a grocery store. While everyone else was sweating, I was stacking ice cream in the freezer! 8)

But, SWIMMING in glacier fed lake?!?! And you guys call ME a beast?

Aw heck, I once went "swimming" in an ice covered pond. You see, one of our young horses had walked out on the ice and fallen through. I ended up falling through too when I went out to save her. I managed to get a rope on her so my wife (on shore) could keep the horse's head from going below the ice and I managed to climb out. I then broke a path from shore out to the horse with a heavy steel breaker bar and we got the horse out. Luckily it was a nice sunny day, or it would have been a pretty miserable time...

A friend and I were talking about this very same subject last Sunday. We both agreed that you can always add an extra layer in cold weather. But in hot weather, you can only shed so much clothing.   Suffice it to say that after 40 years living in good ol' Kaunsaslaund, I haven't become acclimated to the summers yet. Did I tell you I miss the Pacific Northwest?

I remember that well from when I used to live there. I also remember how just about everyone would say, "Wow, this sure is strange weather for June" when it happens pretty much EVERY year!
