Unfortunatly, no Rickenbacker.
I agree Scott, Great show.
Bass players singing lead vocal always amaze me... Especially in a 3 piece band's (Rush, Police, Cream, etc)
Then, Getty playing keys with his feet.... I'm not worthy......

Rush is a very underrated band. (Even if you don't like 15 minute or so songs)

Very well, sir. I stand corrected. Now, the only question remaining is, why one would post such venomous and inflammatory comments in the first place?
It is not always necessary to offer one's opinion on matters of taste.

Why not? So the only thing one should post is positive comments? If I see a bad Adam Sandler film I should refrain from saying it stunk? Never post negative comments, only good? I can only post about CASABLANCA or The Beatles? Bon Jovi or video games in which kids shoot things to death I am not allowed to post my thoughts on those?
Hmmm, the idea of forums, going all the way back to the Roman times, is the sharing of thoughts, opinions, ideas no matter what side those fall on.

It's not so much what you say but how you say it. Instead of using words like detest, stupid and embarassing, just say, "I don't like Rush." Or, "I really don't like Rush. Hell, you can even say "I hate Rush...a lot."
Forums are for exchanging ideas, not hurling insults or belittling the opinions of others.

I see your point. But as I said above, if someone were to come on here and say how much they detest The Beatles, I wouldn't be hurt nor insulted by that. Unless Geddy Lee is your brother, you should not be offended by someone saying they hate that band.
There are a ton of things that I adore and love that get slammed by others. Heck, "Dancing With The Stars" is on in a few hours and I always watch that program. I know there are a ton of people who make fun of that show and, guess what? It doesn't bother me.
So I don't like Rush. Big deal. I actually did post on this thread saying that though I do not like that band, I sure did enjoy their concert video. And you want something else? I love George Harrison and hate Rush, but the recent Rush documentary was a billion times better and far more entertaining than the recent Harrison documentary. If both were on TV at the same time, I'd watch the Rush one again.

Are you talking about Scorsese's documentary on George Harrison? If so, I wouldn't be surprised. I was rather underwhelmed by his film on Dylan a few years ago. Oh well, I'm sure I'll watch it one of these days, anyway.

Yes.
Am I allowed to say it wasn't very good? Well, it wasn't. We have Scorsese, we have George Harrison....this is going to be phenomenal. Watched it and it was a MAJOR disapponitment.

There are plenty of things I don't like. I have neither the time nor the inclination to jump onto positive thread topics just to spew discontention. What a waste of time that would be!
This forum tends to be a very positive and very helpful & friendly place, but negativity is usually reflected back to the originator. It's just human nature, you know, but I believe it was Harry Truman who said "If you can't stand the heat, etc..."
Tommy, I hope you figure this out and stick around. Otherwise,...

Firstly, my post actually was high praise for the Rush video concert that this thread is about. What is this idea that I came to this topic just to "spew discontention"?
Secondly, so what that in my initial post I also added that I did not like the band Rush ? I had no idea that Rush was untouchable. I had no idea that any comment about Rush must be high praise. (I suppose if we comment about Geddy Lee's voice we are only allowed to say that Mr. Lee has a beautiful voice that sounds like a choir of heavenly angels.)
Thirdly, there is no doubt that this forum IS a very positive and very helpful place. In my opinion, this forum (and the Epiphone one) is the most friendly and helpful.

So Tom you say you hate Rush and are the worst band next to Bon Jovi. I understand they are not everyone's cup of tea. I have seen them 6 times, most recently on the Time Machine tour, and have most of there albums. Rush from the mid 80's to up the second to last studio album was a period of Rush I could not stomach. So you sat around for over 2 hours and watched a band you don't like and then give them complements. The instumental song was called YYZ which is the call letters for the Toronto airport where the boys are from. So do you are still hate Rush or not? I certainly would not sit around for 2 hours and watch let say a Justin Beiber concert, cause I know I don't like his music. You professed your distain for Rush and them say how great the show was. So fan or not?

Yes, I did because as the concert played out I found myself enjoying it.
As to why I even tuned in to see a band I don't like, well, I am very open-minded. I watch TV hosts I do not like or agree with, I listen to radio hosts I do not like or agree with, I read writers I do not like or agree with... If all we took in were things we enjoy, one would never know what the other side is like. And besides, how would one know you do or don't like something unless you taste it?

Perhaps young Beiber puts on a dynamic live show. How would you know? I am not a fan of Bette Midler music, but I recently saw her live show on HBO and it was dynamite. Maybe Justin Beiber gives a live show that rivals Jagger and The Stones from the early '70s. Probably not, but you'll never know for sure unless you tune in to a Beiber concert.

I actually like Bette Midler. I learned my first bass walk from listening to Lullaby of Broadway. Jus' sayin'.

I am not knocking the Bieb. I have said many times on this site. There is no good or bad music, there is only the music that I or you like. There is no best group or most talented musician. You really can't say Jaco is better than Entwistle or vise versa, both are great in there own right. These are things that can't be measured or quantified. If I say the Beatles are the best band of all time, what I am really saying is they are my favorite band. Yes they are loved and have sold tons of records but there is no measure in music of what is the best or most talented. It is not like a World Series or Superbowl where at the end of the season you have something measurable to justify being called the best that year. I suppose you could go on record sales but with today's download and music trading it wouldn't be accurate.
So there is my 2 cents. Hopefully Tom you will go back and listen to Rush and have a better appreciation of one of my favorite bands.
