Your design is tricky but can be done simpler. Instead of putting Lions all over it, just lay your guitar on the ground and stomp on it like Suh to get footprints on the guitar.
Actually, your idea is pretty cool. Forget the fretboard markers. That would be insane to do. Just spray paint the guitar Lion silver and put an official Detroit Lion decal on it. Then I would put three blue stripes down the center of the guitar like the blue stripes down the center of the helmet.

That looks like a Cowboys Rick to me.

I thought it was Raider Ric!

Hmm, never seen and sort of raid goin' on at a rodeo...
Cowboys? You bet! Raiders, don' think so...
Oh wait, you guys must still be talkin' 'bout that strange game where they run up and down some pasture fightin' over some odd lookin' punkin, being chased around by convicts with whistles...

Thankyou very much for the input, Tom! Your idea of the three blue stripes down the centre does sound good - that is definitely something for me to think about!
If I end up doing this, I will definitely post pics of the process for you all to see.

Man, that's some headstock for this Super Bowl. I'd definitely take that out on Super Bowl Sunday and play that sucker. Heck, that thing should be in one of the Super Bowl commercials. Rickenbacker should spend four million dollars for a thirty second commercial featuring that headstock.
Interesting side note here. I wonder why a guitar company does not advertise on a huge program like the Super Bowl. Can you imagine if Rickenbacker put together a magical thirty second commercial that played during the Super Bowl. John on Ed Sullivan didn't reach as many people as the Super Bowl does and look what "The Ed Sullivan Show" did for Rickenbacker. Oh, it would be cool to see a Rickenbacker commercial during the Super Bowl.
A wonderful thought but, I think you answered your question with the price tag for the ad.
but...I guess this tells you who I'm rooting for:

I love my NY Giants. I love what they did tonight.
I love my new Midnight Blue Rickenbacker. I love what it sounds like.
But what I love most is that it is Giant Blue!
I buy a blue Rickenbacker and my Big Blue Giants win the Super Bowl a month later.
Hey, does Rickenbacker make any guitars that have the same blue and orange color that the NY Mets wear?
