Re: Getting a sound
Hi Steive, if you have the axe I'm thinking of she does like a heavy gauge, also she may(?) have been sitting in storage for a few years so have Jimmy Moon set her up for you.
Re: Getting a sound
I bought the bass on a forum from a bloke down south, it's a white 1983 4003 if that rings any bells. I had it set up in Jimmy Egypt's place so it's definitely playable. I used it in a rehearsal last night and it was night and day mate. The heavier gauge strings just made all the difference. Probably the combination of my heavy playing and not being used to the bass was the problem. But I really found I was getting the tone(s) I was after and subsequently my playing was much improved. So I'm really pleasedinhuien wrote:Hi Steive, if you have the axe I'm thinking of she does like a heavy gauge, also she may(?) have been sitting in storage for a few years so have Jimmy Moon set her up for you.
Re: Getting a sound
Where did I get Jimmy Moon from, white sounds nice is that with the black hardware? The bass I was thinking of is fireglo, I wonder where she's at. Enjoy.
Re: Getting a sound
Jimmy Moon is a luthier in Glasgow he's looked at a few of my basses and so is Jimmy Egypt two different luthiers!
