This should be a fun project. I have the same tuning keys on my 4005WB, they are Schaller M4S tuners. They look nice but are a bit heavy and have some backlash to them. I have a set of Hipshot Ultralites on order with the 1/2" posts that will fit the bushing holes and will shave off a lot of weight. Even though that wouldn't be original, it may make sense to do as the Ultralites are very nice tuners.

Wasn't there a board member who made pickguards?
I'm sure WD: http://www.wdmusicproducts.com/ can make you one.

JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Thanks everyone for your input, you've all been great in your responses. I've checked out all of these except for Don, and they all want me to send either my original guard or a template, neither of which I have. I do have a photo from a '70's Rick catalog, but thats about it. It seems that this guard is not available anywhere. I would think that there would be a small demand for these anyway.

Scott - as you dont have a pickguard, why not trace the outline of the bodyface, indicating the screw holes?
Im sure a pickguard could be adapted for it. And go for the 4000 idea its a winner

Scott, I'm here in Columbus and have 2 different 4000 pickguards you can use as templates. In fact, the one I have on the bass right now is from a 1975 4000. We could probably get together and you can trace them out, if you want. Being a 4000 owner I say go with the 4000. Drop me a line when you're ready and we can work out some way to meet and trace these out for you.
