Vintage 4001 on the 'bay?

the late 70's, early 80's were the decade of "upgrades", triamping your bass, new pickups, etc. Can you imagine triamping a bass?, a Fender P bass at that, I knew a guy who did, haha! He had two 15's for the bottom and was a bottom freak, always blowing speakers, I wonder why? He had a rack that looked like a PA and his cabs were very tall, spent mucho bucks on all this stuff, and it sounded like S**t

I started out this thread all gung-ho and I would have really wanted to own and salvage this thing. But holy **** what's going on lately. Rick or not these prices have gotten way out of hand. $1900 for a clapped out project, best of luck to who ever ended up with it.
